Having a dog that can sometimes be a fussy eater is always a struggle, especially when I like to keep her on a mostly wheat free diet. When I was offered the chance to try out Pure Pet Food, having seen the ravings it has had on the big wide web, I thought great.
Pure Pet Food has been on Dragon's Den, and even turned their offer down. They have strived to make their company what it is, so good on them!
The difference with Pure is that they prepare all their meals with dehydration, even though the process is much longer than making dry or wet food. They believe that it's time well spent and the only way to preserve the ingredients and lock in all the nutrients and goodness. The food is actually human grade, which is also another plus from me.
All the Pure Pet Food contains no rendered meat, derivatives, wheat, corn, soya, colours, taste enhancers, sweeteners or any other nasty bits.
There is a handy calculator on their website to help you choose how much product to feed your doggo, based on their weight and age.
When it comes to feeding this actually takes a little longer than usual, because you have to mix the product with the water and leave it to stand for 10-15 minutes. So ensure that you leave enough time to do this if you're like me and are always in a rush in the mornings.
To feed Harley for a full month on Pure alone would cost me around £84.99, based on her having 9 scoops a day (30g). Which equates to 270g of Pure (dry) an 8kg supply of Pure (dry) would last 29.6 days! This is just not viable for someone like me that lives alone.
