What's in my Makeup Bag

Following What's in my Bag and with that being quite popular, I thought I would do a post on what I carry around with me in my Make-up Bag this Autumn.

As with every female we have to have a compact mirror, I always carry this "Love Lippy" compact with me because I do love lippy and my best friend Christie gave it to me for Christmas.

My lip primer by Too Faced is an essential item, a majority of the time you do need to top up lippy and what good is doing that without a decent primer? In addition, I always have my chosen lippy for that day, so this changes most days.

Blusher is a must because I find that throughout the day my face seems to lose the blusher I applied in the morning, curse oily skin.

A new addition is this La Fille De Lair, Courreges Perfume, that I received in Octobers My Little Box, it is such a decadent scent.

Of course, we have the make-up bag itself, and at the moment I am using the bag I got with this months Love Me Beauty goodies, sporting the slogan "Life is short, buy the palette".

I like to carry around mascara too, just in case your lashes need a little boost or top up. At the moment I am using Benefits, Roller Lash mascara.

I usually get quite oily and so like to keep my compact too faced cocoa foundation to hand. It can quickly mattify my face and give me the needed coverage.

I also like to have Fairypants Vegan Lipbalm with me for when you feel a little dry on the lips (god that sounds dodgy), I usually use it before applying my lip primer.

Last but not least is a little brush to apply the blusher as and when I need it.

What do you like to keep handy?

Kissed By an Angel Book Review

I read  a lot especially before bed, and have a big collection, mainly on my kindle. I thought I would start to do some reviews of my favourite books and hopefully give you guys an idea of what to read next.

Kissed by an Angel is the first in a series of books by Elizabeth Chandler, I found the series to be very gripping and practically read the series in about 3 days, I couldn't put them down.

The series starts with the story of Ivy, who's boyfriend, Tristan, had recently passed away, she thought she would never see him again and had lost everything. Tristan however has been given the opportunity to save his loves life, as her Guardian Angel, the only hitch is that if he succeeds his work on earth will be done and he will have to say goodbye for good.

We follow Ivy as she is tormented by an unknown threat, that was Tristan's killer and becomes more and more aware of Tristan's presence with no way of proving it his him other than her belief that he is trying to warn her.

This is a true love story that knows no bounds, venturing into the paranormal, their love defeats death and saves her life. I cannot recommend this book enough if you are after an in depth story that will transport you into the book itself.

TV Shows that should be on your Bucket List Drama Edition Part 1

This post is the first of two parts on TV in the Drama genre, well my version of drama.. I realise now that I watch a lot of TV and hope you enjoy my little reviews I shall say of each programme.

The Walking Dead

This is possibly the best post apocalyptic world, where zombies a.k.a 'The Walking Dead' are roaming the earth with only a few human beings are left on the planet. It follows an officer of the law find his way back to his family, hoping that they are still alive.. It really is such an intense series and again they are not afraid of killing off favourite characters.

The series is based on some graphic novels and they do seem to follow them in some respects, however have had to adapt the show to meet current commercial requirements.

There is a lot of blood and gore in nearly every episode with life threatening scenarios all the time. Just as you think they safe, something comes along to destroy the safe haven they have made.

I really find this to be a nail biting, bum on the edge of the seat style programme and am constantly awaiting more.

Fear the Walking Dead

A spin off from The Walking Dead, shows the world just as the outbreak happens and what the world and members of the public do/ cope with the situation. I strongly believe that you just need to give this show the time of day and take it for it's own show and not compare it to The Walking Dead. You won't see any members from The Walking Dead, but you will really feel for the new family they follow in this series.

Sons of Anarchy

This is much more a guy type of show, but I love it and really enjoy the story line. It follows the Sons of Anarchy in Charming California, a Motorcycle Club that is struggling to stay afloat. The VP of the group is looking to make changes to direct the club in the direction his father wanted it to go.

There is a lot of politics that goes on and it's not all sex and drugs, there is so much going on that it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Pretty Little Liars

This is a perfect show for those that want a lot of drama and guess work, you follow a group of friends that have a secret to hide. They get hunted by a mysterious character that uses the alias "A", I have watched all the seasons and still couldn't have guessed who "A" was.

There are a lot of love stories and situations which keep the group close together, but not without it's struggles. This series is based on books by Sara Shepard, I personally have never read them so cannot comment on what they are like compared to the show.

Nashville

As the name states, this show is based on the Country Music in Nashville. You see two powerful women compete for the Queen of Country title, alongside that you see a lot of drama. Family revelry and the downside of being a young female in the music industry.

I love it and it doesn't hurt that I love Country Music either, in recent series the show follows the Gay Hate in America and a Label heads struggle to help combat the ridiculous hate of it. This show is great for anyone with a morale compass that has strong beliefs of equal rights and Gay pride along side family values.

Revenge

Does what it says, this is all based on Emily Thorn's, a.k.a Amanda Clark's revenge for her Fathers wrongful arrest which lead to his supposed death. This is one that does keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. Emily plays dangerously close to the enemy and is very stealthy in her moves, you often see flashbacks which explain her training and how she managed to get to the point she has.

There are a lot of love triangles and friendships which lea to devastating consequences. A great watch.

Orange is the New Black

This show is based in a women prison, with lots of lesbian stereotypes and goings on. There is a lot to be seen, with a family type network which provides many scenarios for funny and dramatic moments.  The lead character is Piper, who hands herself in, and lands her in a situation she hoped to avoid, the re-connection to her ex-girlfriend. Obviously making her current finance a ,little jealous, especially because he is a guy. You end up falling in love with a lot of characters, and the show shows a lot of back ground on many of the inmates.

Keep an eye out for Part 2 of these TV Posts, I hope you enjoyed the read.

TV Shows that should be on your Bucket List Fantasy Edition Part 1

I watch a lot of TV and will happily carry the label of TV Junkie. I thought I would share with you my all time favourite TV programmes which you should certainly give a watch! I will be doing a 2 part post on Fantasy TV and a 2 part on Drama TV. I hope you enjoy it and it gives you a good idea on what to watch in the future.

Supernatural

This has been running for over 11 years! I have never gotten bored and I constantly love the story line and new adventures the brothers undergo together.

The show follows Sam and Dean through many years of brotherhood, torment and hunting. Constantly saving lives and the world from the supernatural dangers unknown to the majority of the human race.

One of the best additions to the cast is Castiel, first seen in Season 4 Episode 1. You first see him as a hard character, however through the years the brothers soon rub off on him and he becomes one of the family. Even now he still takes things so literally, not understanding human humour and behaviours.

Not only are the cast amazing, they are also renowned for being genuinely down to earth guys and this picture just shows how much chemistry they have as friends on and off screen. Showing Cas's signature smile.

The Vampire Diaries

If you were swept up in the Twilight franchise as I was, and no I am not ashamed, then you will no doubt have heard of this series. It has been running for over 6 seasons now and I think it is rumoured to be coming to an end this October! Boohoo! This series is based on the books by L.J.Smith and although it doesn't follow the books exactly I do still really like each edition in it's own right. I do think that The TV show is slightly more realistic than the books, well as realistic as you can get with Vampires, Werewolves and Witches!

The show follows the Salvatore brothers as they fight for the love of Eleanor Gilbert, it soon develops to be much more than that with the incorporation of many more loveable characters and story lines.  If you love broody males and testing love situations with a bit of action included, I would certainly give this a watch.

The Originals

A spin off from The Vampire Diaries, but is actually an amazing programme in it's own right. I was a massive Vampire Diaries Fan until this came out and I have to say this is by far the better of the two, however you do need to watch it to get the full gist of what's going on in this series.

This series follows the Mikaelson family as they try to take back their home in New Orleans and have to ward off many enemies of the famous Claus Mikaelson the original hybrid! There is also the addition of Hayley who had a one night stand with Claus in The Vampire Diaries and has conceived his child! A miracle baby that has to be hidden from the world...

We see many love stories, much more action and drama in this series, I just love it!

Game of Thrones

One I think nearly everyone has heard of and if you haven't at least seen one episode where have you been locked up!

Based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling book series "A Song of Ice and Fire", this medieval fantasy series is adapted around two powerful families battling to gain the thrown to the seven Kingdoms of Westeros. With Knights, Kings & Queens and Renegades this is truly a deadly power play series with lots of shock and gore. The author is not afraid to kill off loved characters, so don't get too attached to any one character.
This series is great for guys after blood and gore and have just enough love and friendship to keep the girls happy too. If you're like me and like it all, then certainly give this a watch, running for 6 seasons and counting!

Always be kind, you never know what personal battle people are fighting.
