Having had my fair share of dates from online dating sites and just random meet ups that have obviously ended up going no where and leaving me feeling like what is the point in dating at all? I was recently set up on a blind date of some sorts..
So here's the thing he knew what I looked like and knew way more about me than I did about him.. but when I was given his number to set something up we seemed to click straight away. I didn't think at all about the fact that I didn't know what he looked like, which is quite refreshing to be perfectly honest.
Everything these days is too focused on looks, social media and all those superficial things. It's funny talking to some close friends about Facebook, we saw a video on their representing a modern relationship where the guy didn't have Facebook and when the girls delved further found that he had never had any social media.. they were devastated. Did he even exist? It crazes me that social media has come to this nowadays!!!
So anyway the blind date for me went really well and I am hoping things will carry on that way..
For me I think that blind dates are often unnecessarily dismissed, I do think you should talk before hand to see if there's a connection, but it would help to weed out those that are only after superficial qualities. In my mind anyway.
If you're not quite ready for that yet or don't have access to anyone that could set you up on one then there are still dating sites out there like Best Dating Sites, Date Divorced Singles, Dating Agency Kent, Derbyshire Dating or Wellington Dating.
Have you ever gone on a blind date? How did it go?
