Influenster UK Max Factor VoxBox*

If you haven't heard of Influenster yet, then you really need to check them out. They are a US based platform where members post reviews and comments about products they have tried, not just ones they have received for free. Influenster also offer it's members the chance to try out upcoming products for free in exchange for honest feedback.

Excitingly enough they have now launched in the UK and I was lucky enough to be chosen to be to review the first ever UK VoxBox, which was in collaboration with Max Factor. I was extremely intrigued to see what they were going to send through, however when it arrived I was disappointed.

I am not a fan of drug store makeup, especially lipsticks. That being said I still gave them a fair shot.

Within the box we received the Max Factor Colour Elixir in Mulberry, Max Factor Honey Lacquer in Honey Nude and Max Factor Colour Elixir Universal Lip Liner.

The Colour Elixir in Mulberry retails for £7.99, is a formulated with a blend of 60% emollients, conditioners, anti-oxidants including vitamin E, shea butter, avocado and aloe. It is supposed to provide maximum colour and fuller lips.

The formula was very moisturising, however it wasn't very pigmented and didn't last long on my lips at all. I found that it smudged very easily and even with Lipcote applied over the top, it needed to be topped up every 2 hours or so.

Not to mention the scent, god do I hate the smell of cheap lipsticks, honestly smell a MAC lipstick and smell a cheaper lipstick and you will see what I mean!
I certainly wouldn't pay £7.99 for this lipstick, especially compared with a high end brand priced at £16.00 which defiantly lasts a lot longer and is much more pigmented.

The Honey Lacquer in Honey Nuder retails for £9.99, this apparently gives you three benefits all in one product. The colour of a lipstick, the shine of a lip gloss and the soft feel of a balm.

I feel like I can't really give an unbiased opinion on this one because I am not a fan of lip glosses, but this one again just didn't do it for me. The colour was too light for me too, which didn't really help matters. The wear time again was poor, however the colour was better than the lipstick.

The Universal Lip Liner was the only item in the box that I was actually looking forward to trying, retailing for £4.99. It is basically a clear lip liner that can be used with any colour at all and will stop your lipstick from bleeding.

I have a similar product from Know Cosmetics and highly recommend that one, so having now found a drugstore dupe is quite impressive. If you regularly wear lipstick and struggle with lipliners then this is a must have, I personally like to use this first and then use a coloured lip liner over the top. This combination really does work wonders and stops that irritating bleeding look.

Overall I was fairly disappointed with this box, however I would highly recommend you signing up to Influenster, you never know you could be chosen for the next VoxBox review.
