Letterbox Cake by Bakerdays and Competition*

When I was contacted by bakerdays to review one of their cakes and provide you guys with a chance to win yourselves one of your very own, how could I say no???

They offer a variety of sizes and sponges, including Gluten and Wheat free, perfect for me as a Coeliac. There are other options such as dairy free so I am sure that if you were in need of a specialised order they could accommodate.

I am a little odd and do not like jam in my cakes, so asked that the sponge cake come with no jam just the butter cream. They obliged and it came just as I asked.

The cake itself was very nice, not too sweet and not too dry like you usually get with gluten free cakes. The ratio of icing to cake was pretty spot on, I went for a simple emoji design that I think complimented my Blog.

I liked the little motif "Have a sparkle filled day!" perfect for anyone needing a little pick me up.

Their prices start from £14.99 which for me is a little pricey considering how teeny tiny the cake is, but then it does have to fit through a letter box! It does come in a nice tin and with some candles, balloons etc. so I suppose you do get a little more for your money.

They aim to get the cake out to you within 7 days, and the best before date lasts two weeks from dispatch. Which is a pretty good time.

I love the idea of being able to send someone a little cake through the post, personalized and unannounced.
